Forkland's Art Classes for Adults

Marjory Ellis has been teaching art classes at Forkland Community Center for 36 years!

Fall Semester starts September 6, 2007

Spring Semester starts February 7, 2008

You can sign up for the afternoon class, every Thursday, 2 - 4 p.m.

or the evening class, every Thursday, 7:30 - 9:30 p.m.

Only $20 each semester.

Marjory teaches two oil paintings to the class each semester, then the students work on their own with Marjory's help. Most students continue to paint in oil, but some use acrylics, pastels, charcoal, pen & ink, colored pencils, etc. Paint, brushes, and canvasses are supplied for beginners, but if you continue for long, you will want to purchase your own art supplies. After the first two paintings, you will need to supply your own canvasses or purchase them from Marjory.

No previous talent or experience is required! Marjory can teach just about anybody to paint!

For more information, call Marjory at 332-7197.

Forkland's Summer Art Class for Children (and Adults)

Every Thursday, all summer, starting June 7, 2007

from 7 to 9 p.m.

This is the 37th year for art classes at Forkland Community Center!

There are three age groups for children:

Ages 3 - 7 - We do easy crafts, play games, and enjoy a long "recess" outside. Taught by Pat Williams.

Ages 8 - 12 - Drawing, crafts, recess, and more. Taught by Barbara Eisenbeis.

Ages 13 - 18 - Oil painting, pastels, and more. Taught by Marjory Ellis.

And there is an adult oil painting class for those that bring a child.

We have lots of fun, and it's FREE!

(Adults need to buy their own canvasses, available at the class. Paint is provided.)

No talent is required! Everyone can learn to draw and paint!

NOTE: We do new projects each week with the younger children, so regular attendance isn't necessary. The teenagers work on continuing projects, so it is more important that they come regularly, but missing a week or two for vacation is fine. Adults mostly work individually with guidance.

For more information, call Marjory Ellis at 332-7197, or e-mail us at: info@forklandcomctr.org
