In Forkland we're proud of our rural past!  Each fall we remember it at our Festival by celebrating our heritage with historical displays, crafts, music, food and more.

 And the food: Saturday, pancake breakfast starts at 8:00 a.m. Stands offer meals and take-home treats, such as pork chops, country ham & biscuits, pizza, burgers, fruit cobbler, homemade cake, ice cream, popcorn, & cider, plus packaged sorghum, honey, breads, & cakes.

Our Famous Bean Supper & Drama

The beans start cooking at 6:00 each morning and smell delicious all day. Talented local performers will entertain during the supper served by local youth (all the beans & cornbread you can eat, plus pecan pie & more!). The hilarious Drama follows. A delightful evening!

Tickets for the Old Country Supper Theatre (Bean Supper & Drama) should be purchased in advance to guarantee seating. (Other tickets, including for the Drama only, may be purchased at the Festival.) For reservations, send a check for $15.00 for each person to Janie Drye, 245 Rosewood Dr., Lebanon, KY 40033, and you will be assigned the best possible seats; or call Janie after 6:00 p.m. at 270-692-2732. Time: 7:00 each evening (doors open at 6:30). Drama begins around 8:30 p.m. Please include your name, address, phone number, and which night (Friday or Saturday).

FESTIVAL PHOTO CONTEST

Prizes will be awarded for the best Forkland community photos—people, scenery, buildings, work, fun. Winning photos will be used for the Forkland 2009 Calendar.  Bring up to a dozen of your best shots to the Festival on Friday or mail them by October 2, 2008 to: Forkland Photo Contest, 16479 Forkland Rd., Gravel Switch, KY 40328 (with SASE for return of photos by mail if you can't pick the non-winners up at the Festival late Saturday).

 
The Forkland Festival is a true folk festival, and everyone who generously volunteers their time is connected to our local community: from the craftspeople, to the kitchen help, to the young people who serve the Bean Supper, to the play writer and actors.
